Each bed is shipped in 3 pieces; the heaboard/ the footboard, the side rails and the slats.

While every effort is made to thoroughly dry the wood before using it for construction, checking and slight wood movement may occur in this furniture but will only enhance the rustic character and always be structurally sound. This is similar to a log home. Wood checks are filled prior to finishing similar to mexican furniture finishing methods.

The dimensions of the queen canopy beds are 68 inches wide X 78 inches high for both the head and foot boards. They will easilly fit through a standard doorway. The length of the bed once it is assembled is 91 inches long. The height can always be lowered a little and still look nice.

We use a natural Varathane finish which is applied to the furniture after a thorough sanding. The finished furniture is smooth and durable. Stain can also be added.
